Celebrating 170 Years of Community
For 170 years, the YMCA has been a place where our community comes together - to grow stronger, build connections, and support one another.
In 1856, the Bath YMCA began with a small group gathering in a local church, united by a simple idea: that community matters, and everyone deserves a place to belong.
Today, that vision has grown into an organization serving more than 7,000 members across three locations, offering programs that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
While much has changed over the past 170 years, one thing has remained constant: our community makes the Y possible.
From our earliest days to today, the generosity of members, volunteers, and donors has ensured that the Y remains a welcoming place for everyone — regardless of age, background, or financial circumstance.
Together, we’re working to raise $290,000 this year to ensure that everyone in our community can access the programs, support, and connections that make the Y so special.
Every dollar raised helps us provide:
- Financial assistance for Y memberships, so more individuals and families can access wellness, connection, and support.
- Scholarships for life-changing programs, including swim lessons that build confidence and teach critical water safety skills.
- Support for mission-driven community programs, like the Y Veggie Van, which brings healthy food directly to families who need it most.
Your gift does more than fund programs, it strengthens the community we all share.
For generations, the YMCA has been shaped by the people who believe in its mission. With your help, we will continue creating opportunities for children, families, and neighbors to learn, grow, and thrive—today and for years to come.
