Where does my donation money go?
CAMP
Day or specialty camps at the Y share one thing: they’re about discovery. Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence and make lasting friendships and memories. And, of course, it’s fun too. Day camp can offer new experiences, skill building, a sense of community and lasting friendships while allowing campers to return home each afternoon. Field trips to local parks are a big hit each week. At the Bath Area Family Y we offer day camp to children entering grades 1 – 6. Specialty camps focus on particular programming like art, swim, and gymnastics develop self esteem and team building.
CHILD CARE
With so many demands on today’s families, parents and care givers need all the support they can get to nurture the potential of their children. That’s why child care and early learning programs at the Y focus on holistically nurturing child development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Afterschool – With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, Y afterschool programs serve kindergarten through 8th grade. The Y gives children a place to be in an environment that will support healthy development of mind and body.
EDUCATION & LEADERSHIP
Bath Area Family YMCA and the Freedom Tour. More than a class trip and bigger than a history lesson, the program engages students in meaningful activities to build positive social competencies. As democratic ideals continue to take center-stage in international events, we find we have countless teachable moments and a heightened sense of pride in our U.S. history.
SWIM, SPORTS, PLAY
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. The benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.
There are countless reasons to give to the Y.
