The Bath Area Family YMCA, Home to Two New National Champions
At the YMCA National Swimming and Diving Championships held in Indianapolis, Nate Samson finished in first place in the 50 meter backstroke with a time of 27-seconds flat. Caitlin Tycz took the title in the 50 meter fly.
Our Y has also shattered relay records at Y Nationals!
For the girls, the 200 freestyle relay team of Sophia Kruse, Sonia Lin, Caitlin Tycz and Ann Tolan broke their own 15-18 record of 1:56.59 and the Open record of 1:53.63 held by Buczkowski, Russell, Lindsley and Ouellette (LRSC) with a new time of 1:52.03!
The 200 medley relay team of Brittany Kaler, Sonia Lin, Caitlin Tycz and Ann Tolan swam a time of 2:03.90 breaking the old 15-18 record of 2:10.01 held by Harmon, Flewelling, W…ennberg and Daly (CMA) and the Open record of 2:05.74 set by Russell, Ridge, Janney and Buczkowski in 2009!
The same 400 medley relay team broke their own 15-18 record of 4:39.31 with a new time of 4:36.76!
For the boys, the 200 medley relay team of Jacob Cost, Brian Hess, Nate Samson and Spencer Lindsley set new 15-18 and Open records with a time of 1:51.18. The old 15-18 record of 1:56.93 was held by Coleman, Gravel, Lawtona and Gravel (CMA) and the Open record of 1:56.61 was held by Gravel, Gravel, Long and Cloutier (CMA).
The same boys took down the 15-18 400 medley relay record! Their time of 4:11.63 broke the record of 4:13.86 set by Coleman, Gravel, Lawton and Gravel (CMA) in 2011.
