
The Bath Area Family YMCA is excited to partner with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works (BIW) to provide childcare to the families of BIW employees. The Bath YMCA will provide 120 childcare slots for BIW employees at our new Brunswick Early Learning Center, slated to open in September of 2025.

Who is eligible for this program?
Active BIW employees are eligible to participate in this program. If your employment terminates for any reason, your child will no longer qualify to remain in a BIW-designated slot.
What ages will this program cover?
Dependents of BIW employees between the ages of three months and five years old are eligible.
How many childcare slots are being offered?
BIW’s agreement with YMCA is to eventually provide 150 childcare slots across two locations in Bath and at a new facility in Brunswick. Currently 120 slots are available at our new Brunswick location, which is slated to open in September 2025.
Where will the new program be located?
Bath Area Family YMCA is excited to open a brand new, 10-classroom building on Farley Road, just off the Old Bath Road in Cook’s Corner, Brunswick.
What will school hours look like?
Bath Area Family YMCA’s Farley Road campus will be open from 6:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
How will enrollment work?
Enrollment and any waitlists will be managed by the YMCA and accepted on a first-come first-served basis. YMCA will maintain a separate enrollment process and waitlist specifically for BIW employees.
What will the cost be? Do employees get a discount?
Tuition rates: Infant Full Day Program –$345 for five full days; Toddler Full Day Program – $335 for five full days; Preschool Full Day Program – $310 for five full days.
Bath Area Family YMCA strives to offer a quality childcare program at a rate that is on-par with other centers in the region and reflective of the cost of care in our area. All families who enroll in the YMCA’s program are eligible to apply for financial aid and scholarships through the YMCA as well as through state programs like the Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP) to reduce the overall cost of tuition.
