A lot has changed in 25 years...
Twenty five years ago the Bath Area Family YMCA broke ground on what would become our current location on Centre Street. A lot has changed in that time.
Today the Bath Area Family YMCA is one of the fastest growing Ys in the country. Our nationally-accredited childcare program remains in high demand, our fitness centers have never been busier, and space for multigenerational programming is in short supply.
We’re grateful for the continued support of our community, but we’re also clear-eyed about the challenges that come from this continued growth. What will the next 25 years look like for our Y? How can we be ready to meet the changing needs of our community today and for generations to come?
Adapting to the changing needs of our community
Constructing a new Early Learning Center
Establishing multi-use spaces for all generations
Constructing the new Early Learning Center will also bring new flexibility by opening nearly 3,000 square feet in our main building to construct multi-purpose spaces for members of all generations to use. This space will also accommodate an upgraded kitchen and prep space for our food program.
Upgrading our member experience
Our growth as a Y has also meant the need to upgrade our facility to continue to offer quality spaces and programs for members. That includes increasing the availability of parking spaces, expanding our fitness center and adding second floor bathrooms for members, as well as upgrading our HVAC system to ensure our building is comfortable in all seasons.
Making this vision a reality
Thanks to the early pledges from donors and local partners, and funding from the federal government, we’re starting our campaign in an incredibly strong position. However, we still need to raise $4.5 million to reach our goal.
Contributions from members, local businesses, and community supporters will be critical in finishing this campaign. Help us chart a new course for the Bath Y for the next 25 years by contributing to our capital campaign today:
