Dear YMCA Members and Friends,
I am writing to share some personal news with you—after much reflection, I’ve made the decision to step down as CEO of the Bath Area Family YMCA, with my last day being July 13.
I’m honored to have accepted the role of President and CEO at The Heart of the Valley YMCA in Huntsville, Alabama. While this next chapter is an exciting opportunity for me professionally, it is not easy to say goodbye to a community that has meant so much to me.
Looking back on my time here, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for all that we’ve accomplished together. We’ve seen meaningful growth in membership, a major expansion of our childcare program, strengthened our fundraising initiatives, and established strategic partnerships like the one with BIW — all efforts that have positioned our YMCA for a vibrant future serving our community.
Most of all, I’m inspired every day by the spirit of our members, staff, and volunteers. It’s been a privilege to work alongside such passionate individuals who are truly committed to strengthening kids, families, and our entire community. You are the heartbeat of this YMCA, and your energy and dedication are what make this place so special.
As I prepare to step into my new role, please know that I remain deeply committed to ensuring a seamless transition for the YMCA, the board, and the community we serve. I will be working closely with the leadership team to facilitate this process.
Thank you for your support, your kindness, and for being part of this incredible YMCA family. Terri and I will always carry the Bath Area Family YMCA in our hearts. We are excited for the Y’s future and confident in all the great things still to come.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Rob Gray
